The Interactive and Cognitive PhD Programme

Monday, 27th June 2011, PAL Robotics was invited to an open doors event held by the organizers of the Interactive and Cognitive Environments (ICE) PhD programme, at the Technical University of Catalonia (Spain), Vilanova campus. ICE is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctoral Programme conducted by the following universities:

  • Università degli Studi di Genova – UNIGE
  • Technische Universiteit Eindhoven – TU/e
  • Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya – UPC
  • Universitaet Klagenfurt – UNI-KLU
  • Queen Mary, University of London – QMUL

The ICE PhD offers candidates an education programme spanning the fields of computer science, electronics and telecommunication engineering, with an emphasis on the following subjects: assistive technologies for health and autonomous living, networked embedded systems, people inspired technologies, designed intelligence for improving quality of life, and multi-sensor surveillance.

The goals of the event were to promote programme sponsorship and to foster collaborations with academic and industrial partners. In the spirit of our previous post, PAL’s representation, consisting of Francesco Ferro, CEO, and Adolfo Rodríguez Tsouroukdissian, Research Engineer; presented our current lines of work, research interests and results from our current interns.
